Green Camping
Just How You Found It
As more people enjoy camping, more pressure is placed on the environment. With the evolution of better equipment, recreational camping does not place as much stress upon the environment as it once did. But care still must be taken.
Programs such as “Leave No Trace” offer excellent alternatives to help preserve the wilderness while allowing a fun camping experience.
MERGE DON’T PURGE
Adopt the attitude that your journey into the outdoors is to enjoy what the land has to offer without changing it. That means using environmentally friendly products like no-rinse soap for bathing and clean-burning stoves. Foam sleeping pads eliminate the need for gathering evergreen boughs for bedding. Waterproof tents with sewn-in floors end the often harmful practice of digging trenches around the tent.
