Free Standing Patio Heaters Free standing patio heaters are mainly used for providing radiant heat for residential patios and decks as well as outdoor areas at restaurants and bars. Their narrow slim design with a parabolic reflector on the top allows them to easily fit on a deck or patio without taking up too much room for tables and chairs. Free standing patio heaters should be placed at least 30 inches away from any flammable materials. Never operate a propane fueled patio heater indoors or in an enclosed non-ventilated space. Patio heaters are available in different sizes including tabletop models and are fueled by propane, electricity, or natural gas. Free standing propane models use a 20lb. propane cylinder and generate up to 40,000 BTU’s (British Thermal Unit) of heat. Patio heatars can be found at most major home centers and online. |
